The position requires expertise in operating highly available, secure, and scalable networks. The Network Engineer works under minimal direction with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment. This is a “hands-on” position that requires strong technical skills, as well as excellent informal leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\n\nDesign, implement, and maintain the organization's local and wide area networks and other networking components.\nInstall, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.\nMonitor network performance, identify bottlenecks or issues, and proactively implement solutions to optimize network performance and ensure high availability.\nImplement and manage monitoring tools to oversee system performance, identify issues, and implement necessary measures to optimize system performance and reliability.\nConduct regular system backups, audits, and testing to ensure business continuity.\nProvide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for escalated network and system-related issues.\nInvestigate and resolve complex network problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors as needed.\nPerform root cause analysis of incidents and develop preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.\nStay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices, applying them to enhance network performance.\nMaintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.\nPrepare regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and other relevant metrics.\nOn-call availability may be required to respond to emergency situations.\n\nTHE DETAILS:\n\nLocation: Gainesville, Virginia\nTravel: Domestic travel 10% or less\nBenefits: Healthcare, Dental Care, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Paid Leave Programs\nMust be eligible to work in the United States\nMust pass comprehensive background and drug screening\n\nMUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:\n\nBachelor's degree in a computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or related field preferred.\n5-7 years’ experience as a network engineer in an enterprise or data center setting.\n5+ years’ experience with Cisco and/or Juniper and/or Arista networking.\n5+ years' experience with Palo Alto experience.\nProficiency with code, and the ability to do scripting or coding in at least one popular language (Bash, python, Ruby, etc).\nCertifications in one or more disciplines are preferred: CCIP and/or JNCIP are a plus\nData center experience a plus.\n\nTHIS MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF:\n\nYou are a strong communicator, you are persuasive and clear, blending analytics with experience in decision-making.\n\nYou do not get flustered easily.
