Additionally, this position will perform the initial review of the financial statements and manage the month-end and annual close processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This role reports to the Director of Accounting.\r\nThe firm has one available position in either Austin, TX; Long Beach, CA; or Dover, OH. Some positions at Novogradac may be open to remote or hybrid work arrangements depending on business needs. Please discuss available options with your recruiter.\r\nYour Contributions And ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the direct management of the Accounts Payable (AP) and General Ledger (GL) staff and functions.\r\nMonitor workflow and quality of work, provide feedback and set-up training plans for Accounting Operations teams including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Time & Billing.\r\nOwn the month-end and annual closing processes, including reviewing and posting of journal entries and account reconciliations.\r\nConduct initial review of the monthly financial statements for accuracy and completeness.\r\nManage workflows and improve processes and procedures for better efficiency within the financial statement and accounts payable processes.\r\nImplement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls; evaluate and streamline processes to improve efficiency and compliance.\r\nReview fixed assets depreciation and capitalization schedules.\r\nManage cash and treasury-related activities, including weekly cash flow forecasting, monitoring bank activity, and uploading electronic and check payments and disbursements.\r\nFinal review of vendor invoice payments and credit card statement reconciliations.\r\nMonitor the AP team’s adherence to vendor contract terms.\r\nMaintain updates and configuration changes related to the Company’s ERP system and support Finance Department software and process improvement initiatives.\r\nAdditional ad hoc duties and projects as assigned.\r\nYour Background And SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance plus a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience, including 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role and/or an appropriate balance of education and work experience.\r\nCPA license and experience working in a professional services firm.\r\nDisplay strong analytical skills, including the ability to gather information, conduct analyses, present findings, and create solutions.\r\nStrong understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.\r\nSuperior organizational and follow-through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail.\r\nAbility to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, effectively manage a variety of concurrent and shifting priorities.\r\nStrong computer skills, including solid skills in the Microsoft Office suite, in particular with Excel, as well as experience using accounting software systems.\r\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong leadership and management skills.\r\nWhy work with us?Novogradac is committed to fostering a welcoming workplace where all employees feel valued and empowered to grow.
