This position provides support for all dealership departments and external customers. This position provides technical support for all allied products that we represent.\r\nWHAT YOU'LL DO:\r\nSupport the operation departments and external customers as the company technical expert. Solve critical product problems through diagnosis/repair, personal knowledge/experience and manufacturer engineering data.\r\nProvide failure analysis reports to dealership, Caterpillar and customers.\r\nTrack and report product problems to sales and Caterpillar.\r\nCreate and distribute technical service related memos.\r\nAssist service managers in making customer, dealer, and manufacturer policy settlement decisions.\r\nDirect, coordinate, perform and report on test iron and field follow projects, failure and reusability analysis reporting, parts salvage and development, SIMS and Partners in Quality programs.\r\nInvestigate and report on product accidents to the company and manufacturer.\r\nCreate on-machine solutions through testing and research.\r\nInvestigate, collect data and communicate with business unit engineers and district rep. on Caterpillars Continuous Product Improvement process.\r\nAdhere to company policies, procedures and practices. Must use all safety equipment necessary and report any unsafe acts or conditions.\r\nAttend and participate in Failure Analysis and relevant technical conferences.\r\nProvide independent judgement and discretion to customers (both internal and external) regarding key component failures, repairs, and analysis\r\nExercises clear judgement on advanced repairs to prevent or further prohibit excess loss to the customer\r\nRequirements:\r\nWHAT YOU'LL NEED:\r\nHigh School Diploma\r\nAbility to become MSHA and OSHA certified for working at mine sites.\r\nMinimum of 5-years dealership experience.\r\n10-years of heavy equipment mechanic experience, consisting of two years as a field mechanic or equivalent experience and demonstrated knowledge.(Preferred)\r\nComprehensive understanding of Level 1 Failure Analysis or equivalent.\r\nProficient at Electronic Technician (data logger, event recording, and diagnostics).\r\nAble to troubleshoot engines, transmissions, hydraulic and electronic syst\r\nKnowledgeable in Caterpillar and Dealership warranty claims.\r\nIn depth knowledge of fluid sampling requirements and test results and analysis.\r\nProficient in reading schematics (i.e., electrical and hydraulic).\r\nProficient in International Standards Organization programs and symbols\r\nAbility to read and interpret blue print drawings\r\nProficient at using Service Information Systems (network, web and stand-alone versions).\r\nWorking knowledge of proprietary computer systems such as Data Base Systems a plus.\r\nProficiency in Microsoft Suite\r\nIMPORTANT INFORMATION\r\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
