Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Electrification Testing & DevelopmentLocation: Charlotte, NC.Duration: Long TermJob DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesThis role supports the engineering development and testing of electrified systems, with a strong emphasis on hands-on laboratory work, power electronics, and system-level validation. The engineer will work closely with design engineers, technicians, and cross-functional partners to plan, execute, and communicate test activities. This position leans more toward engineering development than pure verification and is well-suited for a technically sharp engineer with early-to-mid career experience who is eager to grow in electrification and power electronics.Key Responsibilities:-• Support the development and testing of electrified systems, including motors, inverters, converters, and battery-related components• Design, execute, and document Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) and development test activities• Perform hands-on laboratory testing involving moderate to high-voltage systems (approximately 50–1000 V)• Utilize and interpret data from laboratory diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and DAQ systems• Collaborate with technicians to ensure test setups are ready, schedules are aligned, and appropriate resources are assigned• Communicate upcoming test plans clearly so technicians understand priorities and timing• Troubleshoot test failures, identify root cause, and communicate findings clearly to engineering and program stakeholders• Maintain strong alignment across the team by proactively communicating test status, results, and risks• Follow high-voltage safety procedures and best practices in all lab activities• Contribute to continuous improvement of test methods, procedures, and documentationRequired Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Agricultural, or Industrial Engineering• Experience supporting Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) or engineering development testing• Hands-on laboratory testing experience• Understanding of high-voltage safety practices• Knowledge of motor control concepts and system-level testing• Ability to execute test procedures and accurately document results• Experience with diagnostic and test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, DAQ systems)• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues and identify root cause• Comfortable collaborating with technicians and cross-functional engineering teamsDesired Qualifications• Experience with electrification systems such as motors, inverters, converters, and batteries• Exposure to or experience designing power electronics (design experience is a strong plus)• Experience working with voltages ranging from 50 to 1000 volts• Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, or serial communication protocols• Experience working in regulated or standards-driven test environments• Familiarity with data analysis and test automation tools• Willingness to support limited domestic travel
