IT Support Specialist

Location: Taylor, MI – Plant 1Company: Oakwood GroupSchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PMPosition OverviewOakwood Group is seeking a customer-focused and technically skilled IT Support Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for all employee IT support needs.This role provides Tier 1 technical support across a wide range of systems and technologies, ensuring timely resolution of issues and a high level of service for internal users. The IT Support Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining operational uptime by troubleshooting issues, supporting end users, and escalating more complex problems to Tier 2 teams when needed.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary Tier 1 contact for IT support requests, incidents, and service ticketsTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)Support user account management, including password resets, MFA, and Azure Active Directory access issuesAssist with Intune-managed device support, including compliance and application deploymentTroubleshoot workstation issues, OS problems, and hardware components (Windows 10/11)Provide support for wired and wireless connectivity issues, including WiFi and VPN troubleshootingPerform initial review of endpoint security alerts (SentinelOne) and escalate as neededSupport email security tools (Barracuda) including spam filtering and quarantine managementAssist employees with training platforms (KnowBe4) and related issuesSupport printers, scanners, barcode devices, and other end-user hardwareDocument all troubleshooting, resolutions, and actions within FreshserviceEscalate network, security, and system-level issues to Tier 2 support as requiredDeliver high-quality customer service while maintaining professionalism and confidentialityQualificationsRequired Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience2–4 years of IT support or help desk experience in a corporate environmentStrong working knowledge of:Microsoft 365 applicationsWindows 10/11 environmentsEnd-user computing systemsFamiliarity with Azure Active Directory (password resets, MFA, access support)Basic understanding of Intune device managementFoundational knowledge of endpoint security and email filtering toolsAbility to troubleshoot basic network issues (WiFi, DHCP, VPN connectivity)Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectivelyWhat Sets This Opportunity ApartExposure to a modern enterprise IT environment (M365, Intune, Azure AD)Opportunity to develop skills across security, networking, and endpoint managementHands-on, high-impact role supporting plant operationsOpportunity for growth into Tier 2 or specialized IT rolesWhat We ValueStrong customer service mindsetAccountability and follow-throughClear and respectful communicationAdaptability and continuous learningAlignment with Oakwood Group’s core valuesApply TodayIf you’re passionate about technology, enjoy solving problems, and want to be part of a collaborative IT team supporting a growing manufacturing organization, we encourage you to apply.
