Engineer to support and evolve a complex distributed control system (DCS) used in real-world production environments.This is not a greenfield development role — it’s a hands-on engineering + support position focused on maintaining, stabilizing, and improving an existing system.What You’ll Be Doing- Maintain and support an enterprise Distributed Control System (DCS)- Troubleshoot customer issues by analyzing logs, reproducing problems, and tracing code- Work directly in a C++ codebase to diagnose bugs, implement fixes, and make targeted enhancements- Address compatibility issues tied to Windows/OS updates and legacy system architecture- Support field service engineers remotely and occasionally interact with customers- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement fixes and improve system reliability- Contribute to testing, validation, and patch/release processes- Document technical findings and system updatesWhat They’re Looking For (Must-Have)- Strong C++ experience (comfortable reading, debugging, and modifying existing/legacy codebases)- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex software issues (logs, diagnostics, root cause analysis)- Experience working in production/support environmentsNice to Have- Experience with .NET frameworks (MFC, WPF, WCF)- Exposure to OPC / OPC UA / DCOM technologies- Background in industrial automation / control systems (DCS/SCADA)- Experience troubleshooting Windows + legacy application compatibility- Familiarity with Git and multi-platform environments (Windows/Linux)How the Role Works- Hybrid: ~3 days onsite
