This role supports core business systems and technology platforms including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Nutanix, Azure, AWS, backup and disaster recovery systems, and endpoint management solutions.\nThe Systems Administrator serves as a technical resource for infrastructure operations, participates in system implementation and improvement efforts, maintains operational procedures, and acts as an escalation point for complex technical issues. This position works closely with other engineers, security personnel, service desk staff, and business stakeholders to ensure the availability, security, performance, and compliance of enterprise systems. This role is expected to work within established IT service management practices, including incident management, change management, problem management, request fulfillment, and related operational processes.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities\nAdminister and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Nutanix, Azure, AWS, and related hybrid infrastructure platforms.\nMonitor system health, availability, utilization, and performance; participate in capacity planning and proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability and operational efficiency.\nSupport backup, replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities, including backup validation and recovery testing.\nImplement and maintain infrastructure security controls, system hardening standards, vulnerability remediation activities, and compliance/audit support processes.\nSupport endpoint and identity management technologies, including Microsoft Intune, Group Policy, access controls, endpoint compliance, and related security platforms.\nServe as a Tier II/III escalation resource for complex infrastructure, cloud, Microsoft 365, identity, and endpoint-related issues.\nDevelop, maintain, and improve technical standards, operational procedures, administrative documentation, and knowledge base articles.\nAssist with infrastructure automation, scripting, workflow improvement, and evaluation of new technologies that improve consistency, security, and efficiency.\nCollaborate with engineering, security, service desk, and business teams on infrastructure initiatives, incident response, maintenance activities, and operational improvements.\nParticipate in IT service management processes, including incident response, change requests, problem investigation, service requests, maintenance coordination, and post-implementation reviews.\nParticipate in scheduled maintenance windows, after-hours support, and on-call rotations as required.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.\nFive or more years of experience administering enterprise infrastructure environments.\nExperience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 services.\nExperience supporting virtualization platforms, preferably Nutanix, and cloud environments such as Azure and/or AWS.\nExperience with backup, disaster recovery, endpoint management, and business continuity processes.\nWorking knowledge of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN technologies, VLANs, routing, and firewalls.\nStrong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nWorking knowledge of SQL Server administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.\nNutanix, Microsoft, AWS, or other relevant infrastructure/cloud certifications.\nExperience supporting security and compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.\nExperience with PowerShell scripting, infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, vulnerability management, or endpoint security tools.\nExperience in hybrid environments combining on-premises infrastructure, cloud services, and Microsoft 365 administration.\nExperience working within ITIL-aligned service management processes; ITIL Foundation certification preferred.\n\nPhysical and Work Requirements\nAbility to participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call support as required.\nAbility to travel occasionally to company or customer locations.
