CNA/HHA-OVERNIGHTS
Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated CNAs and HHAs to provide overnight care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in patient care, including experience in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, or home care settings. The position offers an opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including those with complex medical needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's, and behavioral health conditions. Candidates should be committed to delivering high-quality care while maintaining patient safety and comfort during overnight shifts.
Duties
Provide direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems and ensure proper documentation of medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Assist with catheter care, wound care, and other specialized procedures related to medical-surgical or long-term care needs.
Support patients with dementia or memory care requirements by implementing personalized routines and ensuring a safe environment.
Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians in acute care, ICU, emergency medicine, or post-acute settings to deliver comprehensive patient service.
Recognize and respond promptly to emergent situations such as changes in vital signs or behavioral health crises, utilizing skills gained from experience in trauma centers or urgent care.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection prevention standards including aseptic techniques and infectious disease protocols.
Communicate effectively with patients’ families and team members regarding patient status and care plans using medical terminology and documentation standards.
Skills
Proven experience working within various healthcare settings such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient safety protocols including basic life support (BLS).
Experience caring for patients with complex conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, behavioral health issues, infectious diseases, or pediatric populations.
Ability to perform skills like medication administration, catheter care, vital signs monitoring, and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts confidently.
Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach toward patients of all ages including pediatrics and geriatrics.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
Ability to work independently during overnight hours while maintaining high standards of patient-centered care. This position is suited for experienced healthcare professionals committed to providing exceptional patient service during overnight shifts across inpatient, outpatient, or post-acute settings. Pay: $21.76 - $26.20 per hour
Expected hours: 16.00 – 17.00 per week
