This position is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining network infrastructure while advancing Zero Trust Architecture initiatives and ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards.\nThe successful candidate will serve as a technical leader responsible for network engineering, security architecture, vulnerability remediation, incident response support, and operational excellence across core, distribution, access, and perimeter network environments.\nThis position currently requires an on-site schedule. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.\nThis position is currently unfunded and is being posted in anticipation of a future contract award and funding approval. While candidates may be contacted for pre-screening, any hiring decisions will be contingent upon funding availability and final program requirements or client approval.\nResponsibilities\nNetwork Engineering & Operations\nDesign, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including core, distribution, access, and edge network environments.\nConfigure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching technologies.\nAdminister and support network services including VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network access controls.\nPerform root cause analysis and corrective actions for network outages, performance issues, and security incidents.\nDevelop and maintain network architecture documentation, diagrams, and configuration standards.\nNetwork Security & Zero Trust Architecture\nImplement and maintain network security controls aligned with NIST SP 800-53 and Zero Trust Architecture principles (NIST SP 800-207).\nDesign and maintain network segmentation and micro-segmentation strategies to protect critical assets and limit lateral movement.\nImplement least-privilege and identity-based network access controls.\nManage and support 802.1X network access control solutions.\nHarden network devices following Cisco Secure Configuration Guides and industry best practices.\nSecure perimeter environments through firewall policy management, ingress/egress filtering, and multi-factor authentication controls.\nMonitoring, Compliance & Incident Response\nSupport continuous monitoring of network infrastructure and security events.\nIntegrate network devices with enterprise monitoring, logging, and SIEM platforms.\nConduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation activities.\nSupport incident response activities including forensic data collection, containment actions, and network analysis.\nEnsure compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks and organizational security requirements.\nChange Management & Documentation\nParticipate in formal change management processes and security impact assessments.\nMaintain accurate network configurations, hardware inventories, and baseline documentation.\nDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\nEnsure operational documentation remains current and audit-ready.\nCollaboration & Leadership\nServe as a senior technical resource for complex networking and security issues.\nCollaborate with cloud engineering, Microsoft infrastructure, cybersecurity, and service desk teams.\nProvide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff and operational teams.\nRequired Qualifications\nMinimum 8 years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.\nMinimum 5 years of hands-on Cisco networking experience.\nStrong experience with:\nCisco routing and switching\nNetwork segmentation and micro-segmentation\nVLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN technologies\n802.1X Network Access Control\nFirewall administration and network security\nNetwork monitoring and logging solutions\nVulnerability management and remediation\nIncident response and forensic support\nExperience implementing NIST 800-53 security controls.\nExperience supporting or implementing Zero Trust Architecture initiatives.\nStrong understanding of network hardening, security baselines, and secure configuration management.\nExcellent troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience supporting Federal Government environments.\nExperience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).\nExperience integrating network infrastructure with SIEM platforms.\nExperience supporting cloud-connected network environments.\nKnowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.\nExperience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code tools.\nOne or more of the following certifications are highly desired:\nCisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Enterprise)\nCisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)\nCompTIA Security+\nCisco CyberOps Professional\nCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)\nGIAC Security Certifications (GIAC, GSEC, GCIA, or similar)\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.\nClearance\nAbility to obtain a Top Secret clearance\nCompensation\nThe MIL Corporation values your contributions and offers a range of benefits to support your overall well-being.
