Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative and innovative team environment. The preferred candidate will be tasked with assisting R&D personnel on characterization of cathode materials and lab-scale cell builds at our Thornton Colorado location.\r\nJob Duties\r\nConduct materials characterization and perform cell building activities under the guidance of scientists.\r\nPerform basic materials characterization including XRD, TGA/DSC, FTIR, PSA, and others.\r\nSafe operation of various lab equipment including furnaces, glove boxes, and battery testers.\r\nConform to all safety precautions and protocols.\r\nMaintain thorough and accurate records of all conducted experimentation.\r\nClean and organize common equipment and lab areas.\r\nDocument and follow standard operating procedures.\r\nQualifications / Requirements\r\nWorking towards a bachelor's degree in chemistry, material science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline. Junior/Senior-level preferred.\r\nAbility to work in dry room environment, gloveboxes, and chemistry lab.\r\nThe candidate must be able to commit to 10-15 hours onsite, per week during the Fall semester and ideally up to 30 hours per week during the Summer. This is an onsite role.\r\nExperience with characterization techniques such as XRD, TGA/DSC, FTIR, PSA is a plus.\r\nExcellent work ethic and ability to quickly demonstrate independence on routine measurements and procedures.\r\nHands-on experience working with gloveboxes, in dry rooms, or in wet chemical labs is a plus.\r\nAbility to adapt to rapidly evolving research and development needs.\r\nHighly detail-oriented mindset with an eye toward practical solutions.\r\nExcellent communication and organizational skills.\r\nAll offers of employment at Solid Power are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.\r\nExport Control Requirements\r\nThis position requires access to technology, software, and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, due to export controls.
