This role is responsible for providing advanced planning, design, deployment, operations, migrations, consolidations, monitoring and break-fix for Local/Wide Area Networks to meet current and future needs of ViaPath’s Data Centers, nationwide business offices, nationwide customer locations and internet connectivity. Role requires knowledge and or experience with premise and cloud-based networking services.\n\nPosition will be based at the ViaPath office located in Dallas, TX.\n\nResponsibilities:\nInstall, configure, and maintain network equipment and circuits across the ViaPath enterprise (Primarily Fortinet, Ubiquiti, and Cisco).\nConsolidate legacy circuits/hardware and the ViaPath services traversing them to new modern circuits and hardware.\nConfigure router equipment. Install software, configure network ports, set up routing protocols, implement VLANs, configure IPSEC VPN tunnels, create ACLs, etc.\nTroubleshoot routers, switches, and other network. Use GUI and CLI interface to view network metrics, including: interface stats, ARP tables, interface utilizations (aggregate, by protocol, by IP addr), interface errors, etc.\nSupport network availability, perform installation, upgrade, and problem resolution.\nImplement network services to multiple locations throughout the US, Canada and Mexico.\nResponsible for the organization, security, and physical protection of the network devices and equipment.\nConduct network and security assessments to troubleshoot and optimize network performance and design.\nAnalyze network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput), troubleshoot problems and recommend procurement, removals, and modifications to network components and generate usage reports.\nResponsible for development and maintenance of all network and systems documentation including network diagrams and system administration processes and procedures.\nResponsible for development and testing of disaster recovery processes and procedures.\nResponsible for system tuning, administration, and monitoring of managed networks.\nWork with ViaPath staff to solve production, corporate and customer network issues.\nWork with other Technology Team members, Development Teams, Product Networking and Tech Support for any application development, network plans, implementations and changes on the network infrastructure.\nParticipates in the on-call production support rotation and travel to customer sites.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree preferred. Networking certifications plus 4 years of related experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree\nMinimum of two (2) years related experience with Fortinet, Ubiquiti, and/or Cisco LAN/WAN products.\nMinimum of two (2) years related experience building/modifying VPN tunnels and ACLs on Fortinet, Cisco, Ubiquiti equipment.\nMinimum of two (2) years related experience as a network engineer in a production environment.\nMust have at least one of the following current certifications: COMPTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or CCDA.\nDemonstrated experience with complex multi-site networks\nExperience with complex multi-site network troubleshooting, multilayered switch environment, VPN technologies.\nProficient in Windows 7/10/11. Windows Server 2008/12/16/19 server experience a plus.
