{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"42e17cd79c7ca427235cf098","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/42e17cd79c7ca427235cf098","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/42e17cd79c7ca427235cf098","title":"Process Engineer","description":"The Process Engineer utilizes process knowledge and data analysis to assist in the optimization of processes within the department to reduce cost, increase reliability, and improve quality, in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nBe a role model for Safety by promoting a safe work environment and by engaging in safety initiatives.\n\nBuild positive relationships with the hourly workforce and provide technical training on process improvements and process changes that impact safety, quality, costs, operations, and efficiencies.\n\nDevelop critical data analysis on process improvements and be responsible for tracking and reporting process trends and data including implementation of capital projects for justification and startup activities.\n\nLead and initiate process optimization/improvement efforts and implement cost reduction initiatives.\n\nDevelop supervisory skills and take on increasing levels of supervisor responsibilities including weekend and evening call duty and shift supervision fill in when needed.\n\nInterface and set expectations for outside technical resources and suppliers to initiate cost reduction, quality enhancement, and process improvement trials.\n\nDevelop critical SOPs.\n\nResponsible for trial plan development.\n\nSupport high quality standards.\n\nQualifications\n\nMust have a BS in Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Science, or a related field.\n\nTwo years engineering experience in an industrial environment, preferably pulp & paper, refinery, or other heavy industrial manufacturing environment.\n\nIndustrial process familiarity and experience which demonstrates process troubleshooting and analytical problem‑solving abilities.\n\nStrong technical proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft products.\n\nStrong communication and organization skills.\n\nDomtar is an equal‑opportunity employer.
