This role is hands‑on and process‑based, focusing on large‑scale chemical reactions, ammoniation processes, and real‑time troubleshooting of manufacturing and quality issues. Learn more at www.macrosource.com\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nOversee, support and optimize large‑scale production of plant nutritional products, including acid‑based reactions and ammoniation.\n\nMonitor reaction parameters and product quality to ensure consistency with specifications.\n\nTroubleshoot process upsets, off‑spec material, foaming, scaling, crystallization, and stability issues.\n\nProvide hands‑on technical support on the production floor during batch and continuous production.\n\nAssist with formulation adjustments, raw material variability, and seasonal production changes.\n\nInvestigate quality deviations and implement corrective and preventative actions.\n\nSupport scale‑up and implementation of new or modified plant nutritional products.\n\nDevelop, maintain, and improve batch records, SOPs, and process documentation.\n\nCollaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve process reliability and efficiency.\n\nEnsure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nBachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related scientific discipline (4‑year degree required)\n\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in plant nutritional products, fertilizer manufacturing, or related chemical production.\n\nStrong hands‑on experience with ammoniation and acid‑based chemistry in large‑scale systems.\n\nDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot chemical processes in a manufacturing environment.\n\nSolid understanding of fertilizer raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.\n\nStrong mathematical aptitude for formulation calculations, scaling, and process adjustments.\n\nTechnical & Analytical Skills:\n\nExperience using and interpreting analytical instruments and techniques, including:\n\npH meters\n\nDensity Meters\n\nViscometers\n\nXRF\n\nHPLC\n\nAbility to interpret analytical data and apply findings to process control and product quality.\n\nEquipment & Process Knowledge:\n\nPractical knowledge of chemical processing equipment, including:\n\nReaction vessels and neutralizers\n\nPumps and piping systems\n\nExternal cooling systems and heat exchangers\n\nMixing and blending equipment\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nExperience with nutritional liquid plant products (UAN, KTS, phosphate‑based products, micronutrients.)\n\nFamiliarity with additives such as surfactants, defoamers, stabilizers, and inhibitors.\n\nExperience in continuous or semi‑continuous fertilizer production systems.\n\nBackground supporting process optimization and continuous improvement.\n\nPersonal Attributes:\n\nHands‑on, self‑motivated, and comfortable working in a production environment.\n\nStrong problem‑solving and analytical skills with a practical, operations‑focused mindset.\n\nEffective communicator able to work closely with operators and leadership.\n\nStrong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.\n\nTraining and Development:\n\nAt microSource, we are committed to your growth and provide hands‑on training.
