Admissions Recruiter - SUNY Orange

Job Description SUNY Orange is currently seeking an Admissions Recruiter to join the Admission Department. Reporting to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, the Admissions Recruiter is responsible for introducing SUNY Orange to prospective students at venues throughout our service area including the Boys & Girls Club, Veterans Centers, OrangeWorks Employment Centers and to those students transitioning from ESL and HSE programs. Maintaining an active visitation schedule, they will conduct presentations (in Spanish and English) to varied audiences of all ages and backgrounds with special emphasis on outreach to groups and individuals under-represented in higher education. The Admissions Recruiter will introduce students to the programs and services available at SUNY Orange in place to support student success. The Admissions Recruiter understands and can articulate the benefits of higher education and appreciates the key role they will play in helping students navigate the enrollment process. Travel will be required to both campus locations in Newburgh and Middletown and to local high schools, as needed. This position also maintains an evening and weekend work schedule. Requirements Education Required: Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college. Experience Required: One (1) year of recruitment and/or customer service experience. Competency using Microsoft Office Suite. Fluent in Spanish, both spoken and written. Excellent communication skills, verbally and written. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: Bachelor's degree from an accredited College. Two or more years of higher education recruitment and/or student support experience. Familiarity with a student information system (i.e., Banner) and CRM software. Community College or higher education experience. Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, coworkers, all constituents and the public. Performs well under pressure, within time constraints, with a high degree of accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality. Ability to coordinate workflow while dealing with multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to present complex information and data in coherent fashion. Must be able to travel between the College's two campuses and other sites. Additional Information Deadline for Applying: June 5, 2026 Position begins as soon as possible. Salary: $47,763 - $63,287 per annum, commensurate with experience. This is a Staff & Chair, 12 month, Grade 40 position.
