The Painter will smooth and finish surfaces and paint floors, walls, and miscellaneous surfaces using a variety of tools and materials.\n\nMust be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nApply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to equipment, buildings and other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.\nApply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats.\nCover surfaces with canvas drop cloth or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.\nFill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster; or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.\nRead work orders or receive instructions from supervisors to determine work requirements.\nRemove fixtures such as frames, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.\nRemove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting.\nSmooth surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, and/or sanding machines.\nErect scaffolding and swing gates, or set up ladders, to work above ground level.\nWaterproof buildings, using waterproofing membranes and caulking.\nPerform other qualified duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Knowledge\n\nKnowledge of preparation and painting of equipment, buildings and other structures, support equipment, and components, for both interior and exterior work.\nAbility to work independently with good decision-making skills.\nAbility to recognize occupational hazards of the painting trade and take precautionary measures as needed.\nAdditional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nTwo (2) years of experience in a paint preparation, painting, sanding and scuffing or related field required.\nAdditional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment.\n\nWork Environment\n\nAbility to lift/carry at least 50 lbs.\nLiving and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.\nLong hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.\n\nCompensation Details:\n\n38.99\n\nOriginal Posting:\n\n08/19/2026 - Until Filled\n\nAmentum anticipates this job requisition will remain open for at least three days, with a closing date no earlier than three days after the original posting.
