Job Description:Director of Human Resources for the College and the Syracuse Educational Opportunity Center. Overseeing a staff that includes recruitment, benefits, and payroll, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring high quality & timely service is delivered to faculty, students and staff that meet the needs and support the college's strategic goals. The Director of Human Resource ensures the college complies with all labor agreement, SUNY rules and state & federal lawsSpecific Duties & Responsibilities:Provides leadership for administration and department leaders on the development of campus-wide policies and procedures relating to employment practices as well as diversity and inclusion initiatives.Works with College administration to develop procedures to support the College's organizational strategic planning goals, including programs for ongoing professional development of faculty and staff.Works closely with department and division heads to ensure appropriate staffing for functional areas and appropriate classification and compensation within the specifications of collective bargaining agreements.Maintains supervisory responsibility for Human Resources employees.Functional areas of responsibility include: Employee relations, recruitment and retention, classification and compensation, employee benefits, payroll, performance evaluation systems, workers compensation and leave programs, reasonable accommodations under the ADA, facilitation of immigration processes for employees, and training programs and employee development.Responsibility for the administration of four separate Collective Bargaining Agreements and serving as primary contact for labor relations.Oversees development and implementation of annual mandatory trainings.Oversee faculty, staff students and college work study payroll. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.Provides confidential advice for faculty, staff and students.Maintains employee records and reports.Participates in SUNY HR meetings and represents Human Resources in meetings.Perform other duties and required or directed.Requirements:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree required, master's degree preferred. At least five years working in Human Resources in progressively more responsible roles. Experience in employee relations, unionized environment preferred.
