Job Title: Product Counsel, Candescent
Location: Hyderabad or Bangalore
Product Counsel
Candescent works in a dynamic and collegial team of attorneys and contract managers with a mentoring approach from leadership. This position will work on global privacy and product counsel matters at Candescent.
Key Areas Of Responsibility
Negotiate partner integration contracts, working closely with business to align product, technology, and financial terms
Formulate terms of service for products and commercial contract product exhibits
Develop and implement global privacy policies, procedures, and DPAs
Draft artificial intelligence policies and maintain artificial intelligence compliance across product and enterprise usage
Negotiate terms with vendors and partners specific to artificial intelligence compliance
Assist with negotiating customer and vendor DPAs by providing templates and training to commercial team
Exercise sound judgment in advising business clients on interpretation and risk
Assist with preparing detailed playbooks to frame risk profile for partner contracts, privacy, and artificial intelligence
Basic Requirements & Experience
J.D. from an accredited, top tier law school and admission to a State Bar
Required:
5+ years as privacy counsel or product counsel in the SAAS space with privacy responsibilities, with at least 3 years in-house
Deep knowledge of state and global privacy laws
CIPP/E or similar privacy accreditation(s)
Self-starter who works with urgency and proactively manages response timelines
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Confidence and efficacy in client and customer-facing situations, presenting a positive and professional image
Team player with attention to detail
Continuing willingness to learn and upskill
Preferred:
Knowledge of regulatory law applicable to financial institutions and vendors to financial institutions including Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering laws, and Know Your Customer obligations
Travel not expected
