Join us.\n\nJob Description\n\nAECOM is seeking an Entry Level Construction Engineer to work in our Chicago, Illinois office.\n\nThis position is expected to begin in May 2027.\n\nThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:\n\nAssist with the administration and oversight of construction projects from pre-construction through project closeout.\nReview construction plans, specifications, contracts, and shop drawings for compliance and constructability.\nCoordinate with contractors, consultants, owners, inspectors, and project stakeholders regarding project activities and field issues.\nSupport field inspections to verify work conforms to approved plans, specifications, permits, and applicable standards.\nMonitor construction progress and assist in tracking project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.\nReview contractor submittals, requests for information (RFIs), change orders, and other project documentation.\nAssist in preparing meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and project status reports.\nSupport quantity tracking, cost control, and progress payment reviews.\nHelp identify and document field issues, non-conforming work, and potential project risks.\nCoordinate material testing, quality control, and quality assurance activities.\nMaintain accurate project records, correspondence, and construction documentation.\nParticipate in project meetings and contribute to issue resolution and decision-making efforts.\nSupport project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and record documentation.\nPromote adherence to site safety requirements and company safety policies.\n\nQualifications\n\nMinimum Requirements:\n\nBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.\nValid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.\nAs a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.\n\nAdditional Information\n\nSponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available for this position.\nRelocation assistance is not available for this role.\n\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
