Foreman Electrician
JOB SUMMARY: The Electrical Foreman leads commercial electrical crews in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and NEC/local codes. This role is responsible for jobsite coordination, manpower planning, quality control, material management, safety compliance, and customer relations. The Foreman serves as the primary field contact with project management, general contractors, and subcontractors while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead and supervise Journeymen and Apprentices on commercial electrical projectsPlan daily work activities, manpower, and jobsite logisticsCoordinate schedules, field labor, inspections, and project activities with project management and general contractorsRead and interpret blueprints, one-lines, schematics, specifications, and electrical layoutsInstall, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems including conduit, feeders, panels, switchgear, lighting, transformers, and low-voltage controlsTroubleshoot and diagnose existing electrical systems, controls, equipment, and power distribution issues to identify faults and complete repairs efficiently while minimizing downtimePerform testing and verification of electrical systems including voltage, continuity, resistance, and operational checksLay out and oversee conduit runs, underground rough-in, device locations, and equipment installationMaintain quality control standards and ensure all work meets NEC, local code, and project specificationsOrder, organize, and track materials, tools, equipment, and jobsite inventoryPrepare material lists and coordinate deliveries to maintain project schedulesConduct jobsite safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety standardsMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment throughout all phases of constructionTrain, mentor, and evaluate Apprentices while promoting crew productivity and workmanship standardsServe as the primary field contact for general contractors, inspectors, vendors, and customersAssist with estimating, job planning, scheduling, and labor forecasting as neededInspect completed work, complete punch lists, and ensure customer satisfactionApprove crew timecards, maintain daily reports, and provide regular project status updates to managementRespond to service calls, emergency issues, and field troubleshooting as required MINIMUM AND/OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION:High School Diploma or GED required EXPERIENCE: 4-5 years of commercial electrical experience in a leadership or Foreman roleExperience managing crews, schedules, and commercial construction projects CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Licensed Journeyman ElectricianValid Driver's LicenseOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferredAerial Lift Certification preferredFall Protection Certification preferredFirst Aid/CPR preferred SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Strong working knowledge of NEC and commercial electrical practicesProficient in conduit bending, layout, and equipment installationExperience with power distribution systems, controls, fire alarm, and low-voltage systemsAbility to troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment efficientlyAbility to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical schematicsExperience coordinating material takeoffs and maintaining jobsite inventoryStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to manage crews in fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentsStrong customer service and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work safely at heights and in active construction environments PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbsAbility to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and varying weather conditionsAbility to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment daily WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position operates primarily in commercial construction and service environments with occasional office-related responsibilities.
