As an Android Software Engineer, you’ll contribute to the design and development of high quality, user focused mobile experiences using Java or Kotlin, working closely with developers, designers, and QA partners in an Agile environment to deliver innovative, reliable solutions at scale.This is a full‑time, onsite role requiring five days per week in the office, based in Raleigh, NC (preferred) or Atlanta, GA.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesWork closely with product, design and UX to develop a new banking experienceContribute to the development of Android applicationsParticipate in code reviewsParticipate in all Agile ceremoniesDesign, develop, and refine features and functionalityDevelop and maintain high quality code using industry best practicesPublishing builds through pipeline and app store submission process.Instruct, direct and quality assure the work of other developers and analysts.Gather client requirements, analyze, design and create complex application solutions.Prepare detailed specifications from which complex programs will be written.Required QualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor’s Degree and four to seven years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experienceIn-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement IT best practicesUnderstanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT functionAbility to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems by applying best practicesAbility to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive informationPreferred Skills And Competencies3+ years of experience developing high availability applications for the Android platformFluent in Kotlin or JavaStrong UI development skillsKnowledge of asynchronous programming techniques including CoroutinesExperience implementing applications based on MVVM and Clean ArchitectureSolid understanding of test-driven development (TDD)Experience with network libraries like RetroFit and REST APIsKnowledge of GSON, JSON, HTTP and Javascript is desirableDemonstrated problem solving abilities focusing on application design, test driven development, and code qualityKnowledge of Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) a plusWell versed in source control, especially GitExperience working with AWS is a plusGeneral Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of Truist Financial Corporation: All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of Truist offering the position.
