Since 1905, Hydro has turned natural resources into valuable products for people and businesses with focus on a safe and good workplace for our 30,000 employees in more than 140 locations.\nWhat we offer you\nMedical, Rx, Dental, Disability, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts\nRetirement Savings Plans with Company Match/Contributions\nEducation Assistance\nBonus Plan Eligibility\nParental Leave\nJob Summary:\nThe HSE Coordinator will work alongside the rest of HSE staff to prepare and provide safety training, conduct audits and make HSE recommendations to ensure all team members are working in a safe environment promoting health and safety for all individuals.\nWhat you will be doing\nLead and promote a collaborative safety culture while ensuring adherence to company HSE programs, policies, and procedures.\nConduct incident and accident investigations, determine root causes, and drive effective corrective and preventive actions.\nAudit facilities for OSHA, environmental, fire, ergonomics, and hazardous materials compliance, ensuring regulatory readiness.\nDevelop, deliver, and maintain company‑wide safety and environmental training programs aligned with OSHA and internal standards.\nSupport industrial hygiene programs, including hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and exposure monitoring.\nCoach and partner with managers and employees on hazard recognition, risk reduction, and continuous improvement across departments.\nMaintain accurate HSE records and systems (training, incident management, environmental documentation) and support compliance with permits and regulatory reporting.\nWhat will make you successful?\nRequired Education/Experience:\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.\nMinimum of two (2) years HSE experience in an industrial, manufacturing or fabrication focused work environment.\n\nPreferred Skills/Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or safety management.\nCertified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Registered Industrial Hygiene Professional (RIHP).\nApplied understanding of, and experience with, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification, Intelex operating system, Kahuna training and CPro document control.\nApplied technical writing skills and experience with document revisions and history management.\nApplied experience with environmental sampling with a strong background and knowledge in environmental compliance.\nApplied experience with specialty HSE programs.\nUnderstanding of, and experience with, the Workers Compensation process.\nApplied workplace safety and OSHA regulations knowledge to include experience implementing the following critical safety programs: lockout/tagout, fall protection, confined space, hazard communication, mobile equipment and machine guarding.\nMS Office and proprietary computer skills.\n\nEqual opportunities\nHydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
