Product Line Manager, Near Package Optics
Role PurposeDevelops and executes a product line strategy that supports the achievement of desired new products for a client including sales, growth and profitability for new products and materials related to Near Packaged Optics and adjacenciesKey ResponsibilitiesDevelops, a cross-functional business team consisting of functional leads from the PCS business unit not limited to Development, Division Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, FinanceWorks to develop value propositions that enable design and subsequent supply of NPOImprove margins for Corning’s and enable new/enhanced selling opportunities with customers including a product mix from the Optical Communications businessManage the introduction of new products and any other ancillary semiconductor product applications and complimentary products within the value chainManage day to day demand and supply issues, working towards optimal profitability and customer satisfactionSupport building a profitable business caseDirect interaction and management of customer product expectations and introduction sampling and prototype needsManage and provide guidance on finding the optimal solution (balancing the needs of Corning and the customer) to develop the business case for new products related to performance (i.e., specs, attributes, services), quality, share growth, customer needs (contract management)Work with cross-functional leads resolving any and all product needs and issues including ramp/volume requirements, pricing, performance, overall quality and delivery performanceDetermine the appropriate value proposition and value monetization and capture of prototype or NRE projects including heavy involvement in pricing and profitability decisionsProvide guidance on monthly forecasting and monitor performance to revenue & profitability planOptimizes inventory management in conjunction with commercial operations, Supply Chain and finance related to the product line by coordinating information flow, as needed, between Forecasting, Sales, Manufacturing, and other parties as requiredContributes and participates in product line and local manufacturing S&OP discussionsMay get involved in supply chain disruption issues as well as any project delays to influence decisions on Development/Manufacturing prioritizationRequired EducationMBA Required and BS Degree, preferably in an Engineering or Technical field10+ years of experience in combination of manufacturing, engineering AND business management or product line managementTrack record of launching new productsExperience of leading multi-functional teamsWork experience in a commercial functionDesired ExperiencesMaterials Science and Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent demonstrated experienceOptical Communications and/or Near Packaged Optics or Co-Packaged OpticsProduct Line Management experienceValue proposition developmentExperience leading projects or multidisciplinary programs and teamsManufacturing and/or DevelopmentFinancial analysis and accounting experienceLocation: Corning, NY, US, 14831 Charlotte, NC, US, 28216
