The new Bayview, to be completed by the end of 2024, will be a model of community and affordable housing development grounded in amplifying resident voice, addressing and responding to their needs, priorities and desires and supporting community health and wellness.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nSupervise children ages 6-11 throughout the after-school program\nPlan, facilitate and/or support a variety of activities, including arts, cooking, science, and sports\nProvide tutoring and homework assistance\nDevelop and maintain positive relationships with all children\nImplement positive behavior support strategies\nOrganize, clean, and set up space and supplies\nCollaborate and communicate with program staff\nAssist with meal and snack preparation and serving\nCommunicate with parents/caregivers and report on program activities and children’s participation\nDirect and support volunteers and program partners\nQualifications\nPast professional experience working with school age children from diverse backgrounds\nSkilled in supervising and facilitating lessons with children of various ages\nAbility to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and other staff\nAbility to provide children with behavioral guidance and conflict resolution skills\nFirst Aid/CPR certified or willing to learn\nUnderstanding and appreciation of ethnically and culturally diverse populations\nMaturity, positivity, and creativity\nBilingual in Hmong and/or Spanish a plus\nFlexibility to work some extended hours\nApplicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and pass a criminal background check prior to hiring\nRequirements\nComputer Skills/Software: Extremely proficient Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, & PowerPoint; Google applications like Gmail, Docs, Sheets, & Calendar\nAbility to maintain confidentiality when working with program participants and information\nPossession of valid driver’s license\nAbility to lift up to 30 pounds\nHours and Compensation\nThe Elementary Program Leader is a 20 hr/week position. The schedule for this position is 12:45pm-4:15 pm on Mondays, and 2:15pm-6:15pm Tuesday-Thursday, and 1:00pm-5:15pm on Fridays.
