Project Scheduler

Title: Project Coordinator VLocation: Houston, TX 77034Duration: 06 Months Job Summary: Provides all aspects of project construction readiness, work planning, communications and management reporting for the timely completion of transmission line construction projects. Job Duties:Perform construction readiness reviews for the timely transition from a conceptual development plan to construction.Develop project construction readiness implementation plans including: readiness analysis; readiness activities; and readiness reporting.Perform activity mapping and task identification reviews with stakeholders, including the use of transmission system development plans, GIS data systems, aerial photography, and facility maps.Interface with various project stakeholders to identify desired outcomes, project deliverables, and risk impacts.Build and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project Professional software.Perform field inspections as necessary to ensure on-time performance of task schedules.Manage project forecasting and monitor pre-construction activities, prepare readiness reports, and establish metrics to ensure timely work progress.Analyze monthly schedule progress deviations and determine critical path exceptions.Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or Business Management is required.Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.Required Skills / Experience: Applicable work experience in project scheduling, construction management, or construction operations in a corporate or electric utility environment.Proficient in Microsoft Project Professional or other enterprise scheduling software with specific experience in developing and maintaining complex project schedules across multiple work streams.Proficient in SAP (e.g., SAP PM, PP, MM, MRP or APO Primavera 6) or other enterprise work management software.Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio) with specific experience in developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets.Able to work well with both technical and non-technical personnel to gather and exchange information, resolve issues, plan activities and meet or exceed objectives.Physical Requirements: Able to operate a personal computer or laptop and other office equipment, such as multi-line telephone, speaker phone, photocopier, facsimile machine, calculator and scanner.Able to view monitor or screen for extended periods of time.Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.Able to sit for extended periods of time and walk, bend, stoop, squat and/or kneel for filing occasionally.Occasionally requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear) when performing field trips.Working Conditions: Ability to perform work indoors in an office environment and outdoors on occasion. Able to travel occasionally to other work locations for meetings.Work Hours / Location:Available to work occasional overtime.Flexible work schedule 4-10’s, Monday through Thursday, between 6:30am – 5pm.South Houston Service Center, Bldg.
