TAI is GSA listed to provide engineering services and vessels to the US Government and we are a prime contractor on NAVSEA's SeaPort NxG program.\n\nEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION\nWorking towards a Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering discipline.\n\nDESCRIPTION\nTAI Engineers is currently seeking Structural Engineers. Primary responsibilities include:\n\nSupport in preparing finite element models for static as well as dynamic analyses including global strength and spectral fatigue analyses.\n\nPrepare technical reports documenting analysis methodology, results, and conclusions.\n\nCarrying out structural analysis using standard beam analysis software, performing hand calculations, and providing engineering conclusions based on the analysis data.\n\nPerforms structural design and analysis of new built as well as existing marine structures.\n\nFamiliar with marine engineering guidelines such as ABS Rules, DNV Rules\n\nInternship requires completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies from an accredited college or university pursuing an engineering degree. Must have working knowledge of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment. Previous internship experience is preferred, but not required. Must possess the eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship.\n\nCOMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE\n\nAbility to execute multiple projects simultaneously, coupled with the ability to plan and perform work in a team environment or independently is required.\n\nExperience with other common industry software such as Matlab, Python, VBA, Rhinoceros 3D, Solidworks is preferred.\n\nLANGUAGE SKILLS\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before clients or employees of the organization.\n\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS\nAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nOccasionally may conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nNormal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally may visit or be temporarily assigned to work in an operating plant or at a construction site.
