Opens containers using hand tools; counts and weighs materials, and records information. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and machines by hand; loads or unloads materials into or from trucks by hand. Conveys materials using wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator, or other devices; stacks or assembles materials; aids machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of a power hoist.Responsibilities:Has considerable knowledge of the job, including a broad understanding of both general and detailed aspectsWorks under direct supervision with instructions for routine tasks and detailed guidance for new or special activitiesPerforms varied but standardized duties and some more advanced functionsResolves routine questions and problems; refers complex issues to higher levelsErrors can be detected and corrected, but may cause moderate delays or customer dissatisfaction.
