Plant Controller - Manufacturing - St.Clair County
Position Overview
The Plant Controller leads all financial management, reporting, and analytical functions for a high-performing manufacturing operation. This role serves as a strategic partner to plant leadership, driving financial accuracy, cost control, and operational insights that support continuous improvement and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all site-level accounting, cost accounting, and FP&A activities in alignment with corporate policies and GAAP
Oversee and enhance the standard costing system, including material, labor, and overhead structures
Partner with operations and engineering to analyze production variances, scrap, yield, and rework, driving actionable cost improvements
Manage monthly close and reporting cycles, delivering accurate financial statements and variance analysis
Oversee inventory processes, including cycle counts and physical inventory, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet through accurate inventory valuation, timely reconciliations, and strong internal controls
Maintain hands-on ownership of core accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, and month-end close
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance or cost accounting
Strong expertise in standard costing, variance analysis, and absorption accounting
Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, Power Query, and data analysis
Experience with manufacturing ERP systems (IQMS / DELMIAWorks preferred)
