What you’ll do: As the Production Supervisor for DuraMag®(A Shyft Group Brand) based in Waterville, ME, you will enjoy managing and providing direction to team members with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement for the company’s various product lines. You will also: Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities to production staff Lead by example by showing a "can do" attitude and a positive attitude Conduct team meetings to communicate the plant’s performance against KPIs Manage the production staff, schedule shifts, and assist with hiring and training Ensure that safety protocols are followed and that employees are trained to work safely Administer production policies and procedures Ensure that quality standards are communicated and adhered to Achieve daily quality goals and objectives and resolve personnel issues Ensure that materials are located in the most efficient locations Monitor scrap for undue waste Prepare reject tags and manage this process per policy Monitor and improve inventory management Improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost Identify root cause and implement corrective action where gaps in relation to goals exist Provide support in the areas of hiring, performance, management, transfers, promotions, and discipline Manage vacation and timecard approvals, overtime, and training Encourage, coach, reward, and discipline associates accordingly Maintain high visibility and access to associates throughout the shift Identify and resolve issues that impact production schedules Plan and organize production schedules to maximize production efficiency Develop and monitor staffing plans to execute an on-time schedule Meet or exceed production goals and maintain a clean and safe plant Initiate process improvements and support 5S initiatives Partner cross-functionally with engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, and HR to resolve issues Solve complex problems with minimal assistance Learn more about The Shyft Group, DuraMag® , and Waterville, ME by exploring the Learn More section below.
