{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"4140b5b8fb92d774ef6f2d32","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/4140b5b8fb92d774ef6f2d32","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/4140b5b8fb92d774ef6f2d32","title":"Design Engineer","description":"Job Description\n\nCreate detailed cable, connector, and contact designs on 3D or 2D CAD system.\n\nTechnical lead for the development of interconnect solutions including design of the following: contacts, insulators, cabling and latching mechanisms\n\nSupport Senior Design Engineer for development of complex interconnect solutions\n\nCoordinate the construction of functional and non-functional prototypes with internal and external vendors\n\nLead/support group design reviews using calculations, experimental results or research\n\nTechnical lead during the new product introduction process, including assisting manufacturing with tooling adjustments\n\nProvide technical support for existing products\n\nApply principles of electrical engineering as they pertain to connectors, contact technology and cable design\n\nGenerate test procedures and test and/or oversee testing of new designs as necessary\n\nPerform risk analysis such as FMEA as it pertains to AS9100\n\nBe able to travel domestically and internationally\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, MSME preferred\n\n5-7 years minimum work experience in Military & Aerospace industry\n\nWorking knowledge of CAD software, Solid works preferred\n\nKnowledge of ANSYS (FEA) and Mold flow or equivalents\n\nKnowledge of polymeric materials, metals and coatings\n\nKnowledge of principles of Electrical Engineering\n\nAdditional Information\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:\n\nHands-on prototype development experience, preferably including rapid prototyping\n\nFamiliarity with coaxial and fiber optic connectors and knowledge of connector sealing and shielding a plus\n\nFamiliar with transmission line theory and digital signal transmission\n\nFamiliar with high frequency RF applications at up to 40 GHz\n\nWorking knowledge of Printed Circuit Board assembly, specifically Surface Mount Technology, Pick and Place and IR Reflow\n\nExperience with the application of BGAs (Ball Grid Arrays)\n\nExperience with soldering process, platings and specifications\n\nExperience with ESA, NASA or Department of Defense Electronics design, i.e., manned and unmanned vehicle, ordinance development or production\n\nFMEA experience\n\nFamiliar with Root Cause Analysis utilizing standard problem-solving tools and methodologies\n\nFamiliar with Project Management Techniques (e.g. GANTT charts, risk management)\n\nWe believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what make a company flourish.
