This individual will serve as the primary EHS resource on site, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations while driving continuous improvement in safety culture, incident prevention, and environmental performance.\n\nCore Responsibilities\n\nLead all site level EHS programs including hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective action management\n\nMaintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, MIOSHA, and all applicable automotive industry environmental and safety standards\n\nDevelop, deliver, and document EHS training programs for production associates, supervisors, and management personnel\n\nOversee environmental reporting obligations including air emissions, wastewater, hazardous waste management, and Tier II reporting\n\nPartner with plant operations and engineering teams to integrate EHS considerations into new equipment installations, process changes, and capital projects\n\nManage workers compensation claims, return to work programs, and recordable injury metrics (TRIR, DART)\n\nConduct regular safety audits, behavioral observations, and facility inspections to identify and eliminate hazards proactively\n\nSupport corporate EHS initiatives and represent the facility during internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and customer EHS assessments\n\nMaintain and improve ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management system certifications\n\nTrack, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics to plant leadership and corporate EHS teams on a regular basis\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field\n\n5 or more years of progressive EHS experience in an automotive manufacturing environment\n\nDirect experience working in a plastics manufacturing setting (injection molding, blow molding, or extrusion)\n\nWorking knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards, EPA regulations, and applicable state environmental requirements\n\nDemonstrated experience managing environmental compliance programs including hazardous waste, air permitting, and stormwater\n\nProven track record of reducing incident rates and building a proactive safety culture on the production floor\n\nStrong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage associates at all levels of the organization\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nCertified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation\n\nExperience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 auditing or implementation\n\nFamiliarity with Tier 1 automotive supplier quality systems such as IATF 16949\n\nExperience supporting EHS programs across multiple shifts or multiple facilities\n\nProficiency with EHS management software platforms\n\nAutomotive plastics manufacturing background is a strict prerequisite for this role.
