Engineering Team LeadOur client is a German non-ferrous wire & cable drawing machinery manufacturer for the wire and cable industries located in Swedesboro, NJ (greater Philadelphia). For a succession position we are looking for an Engineering Lead with a background of electrical, mechanical, and automation systems.Positions summary:Leads a team of 3-4 electrical and mechanical engineers. We're looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager who can lead, mentor, and actively contribute to engineering projects.He will be responsible of the design of the controls and switch gears for the company coilers and wire drawing lines in AB/Rockwell technology. Supports trouble shooting of products in the field. Oversees testing and final acceptance of the electrical switchgears. Review and implementation of design requests from production. Maintaining the product design documentation (mechanical & electrical).Key Responsibilities:Lead, manage, and support a small team of engineers (3 electrical, 1 mechanical).Contribute directly to the design and development of coiling equipment using SolidWorks.Oversee project execution from concept to delivery—balancing timelines, quality, and technical performance.Collaborate with other departments (sales, manufacturing, service) to align engineering efforts with customer needs.Develop and implement engineering processes, documentation standards, and design improvements.Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and troubleshooting support to team members.Manage workload distribution, project schedules, and resource allocation.Experience:Expertise must include programming knowledge for Allen Bradley/Rockwell automation products and experience should include two or more of the following programming platforms with the ability to program:Allen Bradley RSLogix500/5000Allen Bradley RSView / Factory Talk ViewSiemens Simatic Step 7Siemens TIA PlatformAlternatively, experience with platforms like B+R Automation, Direct Logic, or Direct SoftCommunication protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, DH+, DH485.Expertise should include knowledge for drives control application of the brands Siemens, Yaskawa, ABB, Lenze, Rockwell, Parker SSD (Eurotherm) and Control Techniques strong knowledge about motors (AC induction, torque and servo).Ability to design electrical control circuits along with mechanical systems.Knowledge of the following electrical norms: NEC/CSA, UL508A, NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA79, NFPA70E.Ability to create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical software and mechanical drawings using SolidWorks.Basic metallurgy and metal forming knowledge.Understanding of cost calculation.Master Degree in electronics, controls, drives, and / or 7-10 years equivalent experience is preferred.Computer Skills:Ability to easily navigate multiple software and internet applications, proficient in MS Office programs, SAP.The company is an equal opportunity employer.
