The staff of professionals at Henneman-ITG specializein electrical, mechanical, chemical, process, controls, plumbing, andstructural engineering. Henneman provides design services to the Stateof Illinois, municipalities, higher education, K-12 school districts,and federal government. ITGs industrial clients include heavymanufacturing, food production, chemical processing, consumer products,energy, and renewable energy. Henneman-ITG currently has an opportunityfor an entry-level electrical engineer for our Champaign, Illinoisoffice, in person.Primary Responsibilities Of The Electrical Engineer Exercise judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, andsubstantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques,procedures, and criteria. Conceptualize the initial electrical design approach for all projecttypes and has overall responsibility for the electrical engineeringwork. Knowledgeable in consulting and construction practices to includeplan/specifications, design/build, and construction manager rolesand responsibilities. Supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, includingthe coordination of the project with city, state, and countyofficials and other outside agencies. Resolve a variety of complex problems (i.e., conflicting designrequirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficultcoordination requirements). Serve as liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, anddesign teams. Organize and prepare all electrical construction drawings(single-line diagrams, layouts, sections, elevations, and details asappropriate), technical specifications, contract documents, andestimates. Also participate in contract bidding/administration andon-site project management. Conduct electrical systems analysis, such as arc flash, shortcircuit, and coordination studies utilizing power system analysissoftware. Understand power system protection and relaying schemes forelectrical distribution systems. Will be required to perform other duties as assigned.Areas Of Focus Low, Medium & High Voltage Distribution Electrical Equipment Including Substations, Switchgear, andProtective Relaying Electrical Systems Modeling: Arc Flash, Short Circuit & CoordinationStudies Electrical Equipment Maintenance & Testing Lighting Systems Emergency Power Systems Grounding and Lightning ProtectionQualifications/Requirements Of The Electrical Engineer Education: 4-Year Electrical Engineering degree required. Experience: Entry level.
