Recreational Therapist

Come find out why Farm Life is the Best Life! Maple Seed Farms is seeking a Recreational Therapist to join our team. Our services bridge the gap for children, teens, and young adults transitioning through the different stages of life. From the Farmhouse to the Skills Center, our 6-acre site offers unique opportunities for a variety of service offerings including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, Medicaid Waiver Services, and daily living skills development. We are seeking team members who are dynamic, resourceful, and enthusiastic. The position is an independent contractor role. Independent contractors can create a flexible schedule within the schedule of the individuals that they support and are offered opportunities to collaborate with other on staff Recreational Therapists. All services will be provided through the Medicaid Waiver to individuals with physical and developmental disabilities who utilize the Family Support Waiver or the Community Integration Habilitation Waiver. As a Recreational Therapist, your duties will include: -assessing the individual -meeting with the individual and their team to create goals and a treatment plan -goal oriented sessions with the individual on a routine basis -documentation of each session and goal progress made -quarterly meetings to review goal progress with the individual and the team -effectively communicating with teams while preserving confidentiality -cultivating a positive, enthusiastic atmosphere Requirements: -Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Recreational Therapy -Certification as a CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) by NCTRC (National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification) -Relevant previous job experience preferred The physical demands and characteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those that will be encountered by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
