We accomplish this mission through a broad range of social, educational, and recreational services that reach community members of all ages and backgrounds.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nFunctions as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of social workers, nurses and administrative staff.\nGreets clients and answers telephones.\nExplains services available to new clients.\nManages requests for transportation and schedules accordingly.\nData entry - enters units of service for group activities, transportation, and other services as assigned by the Program Director, into the NYC Aging’s VIVE database in a timely manner.\nProvides clerical support to the team including copying, filing, mailings, and maintaining supply\ninventory.\nCollaborates with team to develop and organize new programming, special events, trips,\ncalendars, flyers, and program guide descriptions for activities.\nFacilitates recreational and social activities as needed.\nInterfaces with NORC Advisory Board members and takes minutes at meetings.\nParticipates in monthly meetings with other Program Assistants in the Older Adult Services department, as well as quarterly meetings with all department staff.\nAttends staff development trainings, agency-wide meetings such as Town Hall with the CEO, and\nparticipates in other agency events.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:\nComputer literate, including experience utilizing Google Drive (Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Docs, Sheets, etc.); efficient use of the Internet and ability to use Zoom and Google Meets technology.\nPreferably 3–4 years of administrative experience in an office setting; experience in non-profit environment a plus; college degree preferred.\nAbility to work efficiently and effectively under pressure to meet production deadlines.\nExcellent time management skills and ability to prioritize daily workload independently.\nDemonstrated sensitivity to the aging population a plus.\nMust have excellent interpersonal skills as well as solid verbal and written communication skills.\n\nJOB DETAILS:\nSchedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours; some evening or Sunday hours may be required.\nOffice Location: Whitestone, Queens.\nUnion position.\nSalary: $45,000 plus benefits.\n\nSend resume with cover letter to bbeckerbruno@commonpoint.org and jchampion@commonpoint.org.\n\nOnly qualified candidates will be contacted.\n\nCommonpoint NY, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.\n\nAbout Commonpoint:\n\nCommonpoint is a community centric nonprofit, serving diverse audiences through every chapter of life, across the five boroughs and beyond.
