Staff Accountant
Department: Finance Job Status: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Positions Supervised: None Amount of Travel Required: Minimal Work Schedule: 8:00 – 5:00 Monday - Friday
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of state and county funding, private contributions and grants.
Assist with writing and updating accounting policies and procedures as needed or requested by the CEO or CFO.
Prepare monthly financial
Complete reconciliation of all agency bank accounts and investment
Prepare and enter all journal entries into the general ledger
Assist with providing financial data for completion of the Agency’s and Foundation’s 990
Assist with preparation of Form
Track all deferred revenues and prepaid expenses, ensuring that they are charged to the appropriate months.
Assist with the annual financial
Assist with cost report and grant reports, including tracking allowable grant hours for SAMHSA
Assist with preparation of the annual agency
Assist with grant budgets as
Cross-train with the Financial Reporting Analyst and provide backup to other members of the finance department as needed.
This position will have similar duties where applicable for the FSGC
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related
Experience:
Two years of accounting
Working knowledge of nonprofit financial reporting
Strong understanding of budgeting processes
