The Mid-Level or Senior-Level Project Engineer is responsible for all aspects of code compliance evaluations and supporting clients through all stages of product development, testing, and certification. The Project Engineer manages assigned projects from product sampling and witness manufacturing through creating final certification documentation within client budgeted timelines. This position will travel at least 25% of the time.\n\nShift/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM\n\nSalary & Benefits Information: Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. This includes witnessing of testing at the laboratory to see the product standards in action.\n\nAssume responsibility for projects and tasks and establish client commitments with follow-through\n\nAssist Sales Team with determining scope work for quoting purposes.\n\nReview and thoroughly understand contract requirements and document any deviations.\n\nLead project kick‑off meetings with clients, develop project milestones and commitment dates.\n\nCommunicate directly with clients on status of projects, required information, and completion dates.\n\nCommunicate and coordinate with the testing laboratory on a regular basis to ensure smooth client transitions between tasks.\n\nConduct off‑site, in‑person audits at manufacturing facilities with the ability to lead the audit, communicate requirements, and document all phases of production and quality control.\n\nDevelop detailed audit reports that document all the details gathered during the audit.\n\nDevelop factory audit manuals promulgated from the audit reports.\n\nPeer‑review factory audit manuals completed by others.\n\nAbility to travel both domestically and internationally to the various manufacturing locations.\n\nPerform other work as required.\n\nThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. Degree in Engineering or closely related field of physical science\n\nTechnical competence to effectively communicate test procedures, specifications, and results with customers while possessing skills in diplomacy conducive to working with clients through technically challenging compliance issues\n\nCapability of working both individually and within a team\n\nGood research, documentation, record keeping and technical writing skills\n\nAbility to understand and apply new test methods and procedures for assigned projects\n\nExpected to travel as business needs dictate\n\nValid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nPassing of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) or Engineer‑in‑Training (E.I.T) designation\n\nKnowledge of construction material characteristics and applications, manufacturing techniques, supply sources and engineering principles\n\nKnowledge of the U.S. Building Codes and applicable fire standards, building design and construction, and modern construction materials and methods\n\nIntertek: Total Quality.
