Lead Instructors are capable of effectively balancing leadership and instructional responsibilities. The Lead Instructor is committed to providing exceptional customer service through an expert approach that is personal and prescriptive, ensuring students make progress on their binder work, attend to each student’s needs, and coaches instructors on how to develop an expert approach. They assist with administrative tasks such as creating binders, reordering workout plans, and logging student progress. They build students’ confidence and self-esteem.\nAdditionally, the Lead Instructor builds the Instructor’s confidence and self-esteem through successful coaching interaction. The Lead Instructors are the instructional floor leaders of the Mathnasium center team and are responsible for the successful facilitation of team teaching. They assist with sales tasks such as making care calls when assigned and provide support at events. They support the Center Director in operating the day-to-day functions of a center and assume responsibility for the center’s needs when the Center Director or Assistant Director is not available.\nJob Responsibilities:\nLeadership:\nLead the instructional floor by facilitating the Team Teaching environment.\nLead Instructors throughout the workday to ensure all students receive proper attention.\nManage the center environment and resolve escalated student progress and behavioral issues.\nTake accountability of and ensure students are progressing through their session’s workout plan and Mathnasium Hour.\nTake accountability of the formal check-in and check-out process ensuring all students get situated appropriately when entering the center by setting session goals.\nTake accountability of all students completing reflective learning by reflecting on session goals during the checked-out process.\nCoach and motivate Instructors to become better Instructors and help them master how to use the Mathnasium Method to help students learn math.\nCommunicate with instructors and make daily schedules.\nSupport the Center Director and Assistant Center Director by communicating daily instructional updates and observations.\nAttend to operational needs such as verifying attendance, binder completion, and lesson plan progress.\nInstruction:\nTeach through Mathnasium methodology and terminology, using prescribed teaching practices.\nEnsure Instructors are delivering instruction using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and methodology.\nInteract with and motivate students during the instructional session.\nEvaluate and document student progress.\nCommunicate student needs to the superiors.\nAssist in non-teaching tasks, which may include cleaning, administrative assistance, curriculum preparation, or other duties as assigned.\nAdminister, score, and record student assessments as needed to track progress and modify learning plans.\nAssist in non-teaching tasks such as administrative support, data entry for student progress, and preparation of instructional materials.\nParent and Communication Support:\nAttend and participate in parent calls or care calls when delegated by the Center Director or Assistant Center Director.\nAssist in scheduling, conducting, or following up on parent progress meetings.\nSupport communication about student progress, assessment results, and student behavior.\nProvide feedback from the instructional floor to the leadership team to ensure consistent parent updates.\nAssessment and Student Tracking:\nAdminister and evaluate initial, progress, and post-assessments to determine learning gaps and mastery.\nTrack student progress through workout plans, mastery checks, and assessments.\nCommunicate results with the leadership team to update learning plans and make adjustments.\nEnsure all assessment data is accurately entered into the system.\nLead Instructor Characteristics:\nIn addition to characteristics of an excellent Mathnasium Instructor, Mathnasium Lead Instructors possess the following:\nInstructional Floor Facilitators:\nLead Instructors must be able to effectively facilitate Mathnasium’s Team-Teaching environment on the instructional floor. Lead Instructors must to always keep awareness of the instructional floor and direct Instructors to assist students needing attention. The lead instructor should have proactive communication and engage in parent updates and internal coordination to keep the center running smoothly.\nAll applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.\nMathnasium locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees of Mathnasium Center Licensing, LLC (\\Mathnasium\\). Franchisees are independent business people and not employed by Mathnasium. Thus, each franchisee and each franchisee center is unique and the franchisee is alone responsible for all employment matters in their center.
