The Account Coordinator, supporting the Intermodal Operations department, represents the core of our Companys operation as they are responsible for coordinating daily freight load movements on a national scale, while maintaining customer satisfaction in an extremely high-pressure, time-sensitive atmosphere. They are a motivated, self-starter able to manage multiple projects at once within a fast-paced environment. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with company SOPs, maintaining service excellence, and contributing to the growth of our customer and carrier network. While the following outlines the general responsibilities and requirements, it is not exhaustive, as flexibility and initiative are highly valued in this dynamic role.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Determine and secure most profitable equipment type including equipment requestsSchedule pick up appointments based on customer guidelinesDispatch origin carrierPerform rail billing and assign gate reservations when neededMonitor and work Pre-ship and Origin tabs in EdgeManage equipment pools, reconciliation, and reportingEnsure loads are in gated in a timely mannerEnter all relevant information (arrival and departure times, notes, etc.)Review and work active alerts in EdgeCommunicate and enter carrier deductions if applicableReview and process accessorials which occur at originCommunicate with carriers, customers, and railroadsSchedule delivery appointments based on customer guidelinesDispatch destination carrierMonitor and work transit and destination tabs in EdgeManage equipment pools, reconciliation, and reportingEnsure termination of empty equipment in a timely mannerEnter all relevant information (arrival and departure times, notes, etc.)Review and work all active alerts in EdgeCommunicate and enter carrier deductions if applicableReview and process accessorials which occur at destinationReview team emails, prioritize, and respond in a timely mannerReview and process accessorials incurred at destinationRun various reports which will assist in properly managing customers loadsProvide problem resolution as neededIdentify trends or concerns with each customer and/or carrier and communicate to the team leader, manager and/or salesCommunicate any additional charges which could occur to the customerBack up for other team members and/or team leader, as neededProvide on-call coverage as assigned by team leader or supervisorPromote and display Cornerstones Core Values: Integrity, Honesty, Respect, Loyalty, Never SatisfiedRegular and reliable attendance expectedOther work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/managerMinimum Knowledge, Abilities and Skills RequiredMinimum Bachelors Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or related field preferred but not required.3-5+ years of related work experience within transportation or logistics, and/or additional or specialized training in transportation, logistics, or similar area of study; working knowledge of intermodal transportation preferred, but not requiredCost management experience preferred, but not requiredMust have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skillsMust possess a strong sense of urgencyStrong negotiating skillsMust possess strong attention to detailAble to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and can work well under pressureProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and Outlook
