Facility: Mercy Hospital of Buffalo Shift: Shift 1Status: Part Time w/Benefits FTE: 0.500000Bargaining Unit: ACE Associates Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: No Work Schedule: Days Hours: 8a-4p Summary: Primary responsibility is the accessioning and non-technical processing of pathology specimens, filing of blocks and slides, answering phones, delivering prepared samples to pathologists, inventory replenishment and basic workbench cleaning. Responsibilities: EDUCATIONHigh school graduate AAS degree preferred EXPERIENCEOne (1) year education, training or experience involving Administrative Assistant/Medical Office courses or experience in hospital Laboratory setting preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITYKnowledge of medical terminology is preferred Outstanding customer service skills Ability to work safely with infectious and/or hazardous materials Present self in a confident and professional manner to all personnel and public Ability to work with various computer software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work as part of a team within the department and other ancillary areas, including pathologists, coworkers, and other physicians WORKING CONDITIONSENVIROMENTNormal heat, light space, and safe working environment; occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions
