CDL Driver has the responsibility for hauling materials to residential and/or commercial job sites. Our division consists of aggregate hauling, with straight truck, truck and pup, flatbed, roll off and pump trucks. Your expertise must demonstrate leadership by setting an example in adhering to Safety and Human Resources policies and practices is expected. Upholding Stephens & Smith's mission statement, work ethics, and maintaining quality, safety, and human resources standards is a requirement.\nKey Responsibilities (Includes, but not limited to):\nAdheres to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe driving record.\nProvides assistance with the loading and unloading of freight, as needed.\nPerforms daily inspections, both before and after trips, to ensure the truck and equipment are in proper working order.\nMaintains precise and comprehensive documentation, including the driver's log, in accordance with the rules and regulations set by the State DMV/DOT.\nPrecisely inputs order and delivery information into electronic devices such as tablets, phones, and/or computers.\nMust consistently maintain a clean driving record, adhering to all DOT regulations and remaining in compliance at all times.\nPreferred Talents:\nHaving a basic understanding of truck mechanics and the ability to perform minor repairs or troubleshoot mechanical issues can be beneficial.\nProficiency in reading maps, using GPS systems, and navigating unfamiliar routes can help drivers efficiently plan and execute their trips.\nStrong customer service abilities, including professionalism, communication skills, and a friendly demeanor.\nBeing able to think critically and adapt to unexpected situations on the road, such as traffic congestion or detours, can contribute to successful and efficient deliveries.\nEffective time management skills, including the ability to plan routes, prioritize tasks, and meet delivery schedules, can enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.\nDemonstrating a strong work ethic, including reliability, punctuality, and dedication to completing tasks\nOperating a forklift to load and unload palletized material on jobsites, warehouses and flatbed trailer\nUse of E log system for recording DOT drive time every home night\nPhysical Demands\nDefinitions: Based on 8-12 hours per day\nContinually 70-100% Regularly 50-70%\nPeriodically 20-50% Rarely – less than 20%\nContinually maintain proper posture and body alignment to minimize discomfort and prevent fatigue.\nContinually traveling in all weather conditions.\nContinually being able to sit.\nRegularly lift and carry cargo.
