Job Overview Chugs diner are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line & Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting in preparing high-quality meals, ensuring food safety standards, and supporting the overall efficiency of our food service operations. This position requires a passion for cooking, attention to detail, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist in food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients using proper knife skills. Follow recipes and menu planning guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in food presentation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items. Adhere to food safety regulations and sanitation standards throughout all stages of food preparation. Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods. Support the dietary department by preparing specialized meals as needed for various dietary restrictions. Participate in inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management of low stock levels. Qualifications Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred but not required. Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is highly desirable. Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods are advantageous. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills within the kitchen environment.
