Job Title: Project AccountantIndustry: Finance & AccountingLocation: College Park, GA | Full TimeCompensation: $70,000 - $75,000 / YearBenefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefitsWork Schedule: Full-time, business hoursPosition SummaryWe are looking for a Senior Accountant with a strong foundation in GAAP to support our finance and accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for managing the full accounting lifecycle across a diverse project portfolio, including cost accounting, general ledger maintenance, and revenue recognition. This position works cross-functionally with project managers, finance leadership, and other departments in a dynamic, collaborative environment.ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting & ReportingPrepare and post monthly journal entries including revenue, accruals, and prepaid expensesPerform bank and account reconciliations and budget variance analysisReconcile billed and unbilled receivables against revenue activity and resolve discrepanciesPrepare closing general ledger entries for cash, accruals, and accounts payableAssist with ad hoc reporting and audit support on a quarterly and as-needed basisProject AccountingManage the full lifecycle of project accounting from account setup through project close-outTrack project budgets, validate invoices, and reconcile project payables and receivablesReview and interpret contract documents to ensure proper billing and revenue recognition treatmentCoordinate with the contracts department and project managers to confirm invoicing requirementsPartner with project managers to develop project structures that align with billing, revenue, and cost accumulation needsProvide accounting recommendations when contract modifications or budget changes occurBillingPrepare client billings across multiple contract types including Cost Plus, Time & Materials, and Fixed PriceConduct monthly revenue reviews and research and resolve unexplained variancesQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related fieldMinimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience1–3 years of experience in a government contracting environmentProficiency in Oracle and/or Deltek CostpointAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data sorting and filteringStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsPreferredMaster's degree in Accounting or BusinessExperience with big data analysisAddison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
