Interpretation roles may support various government agencies and qualified candidates may be asked to apply to those roles as they become available.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nProvide simultaneous and/or consecutive interpretation between English and one or more target languages.\nAccurately convey the meaning, tone, and intent of spoken communications while maintaining cultural sensitivity.\nInterpret oral conversations in real-time, ensuring clarity and understanding for all parties involved.\nObserve and analyze cultural nuances, non-verbal cues, and context to enhance communication effectiveness.\nMaintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all assignments.\nProvide cultural insights and context to facilitate effective communication between parties.\nQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED:\nProficiency in English and at least one other language, with demonstrated skills in speaking and listening.\nAbility to demonstrate proficiency through an industry standard assessment.\nMinimum of three years of experience in oral interpretation.\nFamiliarity using over-the-phone interpretation platforms.\nAbility to pass a background check or obtain a security clearance, if required for specific assignments.\nBe a US citizen or lawful permanent resident.\nQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL PREFERRED:\nExperience in high-pressure environments, such as legal, medical, or government settings, is preferred.\nIndustry relevant certifications for Interpretation (e.g., Certified Court Interpreter)\nDegree in linguistics, interpretation, or a related field.\nActive security clearance.\nPhysical and Environmental Requirements:\nAbility to work extended hours and travel, if necessary.\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual(s) assigned to this position.
