Marine Fleet Supervisor - Heavy Civil ConstructionTrumbull-Brayman Joint Venture Montgomery Lock & Dam Project - Monaca, PennsylvaniaTrumbull Corporation is seeking an experienced Marine Fleet Foreman (Towboat & Barge Operations) to support the Montgomery Lock & Dam Project in Monaca, Pennsylvania, a major U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) infrastructure project located on the Ohio River navigation system with an estimated 8-year duration.This is a long-term, full-time leadership position responsible for overseeing marine equipment and vessel operations supporting heavy civil construction activities. The Marine Fleet Foreman will coordinate the operation, maintenance, and deployment of barges, towboats, floating cranes, and other marine equipment used in construction operations within an active inland river navigation pool.This position offers stable, long-term employment on a high-profile federal infrastructure project supporting the U.S. inland waterway system.Schedule & CompensationThe typical work schedule is Monday through Friday - approximately 40 hours per week, with additional overtime available based on project needs.This is a union position, and the successful candidate will become a member of the applicable Local.Compensation includes a competitive Union hourly wage and benefits package, based on experience:Overtime payMedical / Prescription Drug InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsurancePension PlanAdditional benefits provided through the collective bargaining agreement Key ResponsibilitiesThe Marine Fleet Foreman is responsible for coordinating marine operations and supervising crews operating vessels and floating equipment supporting heavy civil construction activities within an active inland river navigation pool.Responsibilities include:Supervising daily operations of the project marine fleet, including towboats, barges, floating cranes, and support vesselsCoordinating movement, positioning, and mooring of construction barges and crane barges within the navigation poolSupporting marine construction activities including barge crane operations, pile driving, and material transportCoordinating marine crews including towboat operators, deckhands, and equipment operatorsMonitoring river conditions, commercial navigation traffic, and project activities within the inland river navigation systemEnsuring compliance with USACE requirements, U.S. Coast Guard regulations, and company safety policiesCoordinating marine logistics with project management and field supervisionSupporting lock and dam construction activities requiring barge positioning and fleet coordinationMaintaining equipment readiness and coordinating maintenance of marine vessels and floating equipmentMaintaining safe and organized marine work areas The Marine Fleet Foreman is expected to serve as a hands-on field leader, working alongside marine crews while coordinating equipment and personnel to support safe and efficient construction operations. Qualifications & EducationMinimum 5-7 years of marine construction or inland river fleet operations experienceExperience supervising marine crews or barge fleet operationsExperience working on lock and dam construction projects or inland navigation poolsKnowledge of towboat operations, barge handling, and floating crane operationsFamiliarity with inland river navigation systems and vessel positioning within active waterwaysStrong understanding of marine safety practices, USACE requirements, and Coast Guard regulationsStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsCommitment to maintaining safe work practicesHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMaritime licenses or marine safety certifications preferredRecent and verifiable work history requiredWork EnvironmentWork is performed on and around water within an active inland river navigation pool supporting heavy civil construction operations.
