Job SummaryRehabilitation Aide (“RA”) assists with non-patient care tasks as well as patient care activities. Non-patient care task examples are clerical duties, prep treatment rooms/areas, assist with patient transportation, and department housekeeping as required. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical or Occupational Therapist or Speech-Language Pathologist, the RA may also treat patients (pediatrics and adults).Responsibilities And DutiesEssential Responsibilities and Expectations Under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech-language pathologist:Assist with the provision of patient-related services for non-Medicare Part B patients Monitor therapy exercises/activities to ensure patient safetyProvide information and comfort to patients by listening to questions and requests, and relaying concerns and questions to therapistsAssist with the transportation of patientsCommunicate effectively with all levels of staff fostering the development of teamwork.Prepare needed therapy materials and/or equipment Assist with clerical duties and data entry (e.g., answering phones, scheduling, checking-in patients, scanning/faxing)Assist with inventory control, including linen supply/cleaningMaintain a safe and organized working environment and treatment areasMaintain and clean the department areas (e.g., treatment rooms) and equipment daily or more frequently as needed.Document any treatment in patient’s medical records as required when involved with provision of patient-related servicesMaintain and file patient records/EMR to keep them updated and accurateReport any problem areas/equipment within the clinic to the appropriate supervisor immediately Comply with State Licensing Board of California, Title 22, CMS, and California Labor Board guidelinesComply with Company and clinic rules, policies, and proceduresComply with all applicable safety rules, policies, and proceduresReport to work regularly and on time Additional Responsibilities And ExpectationsSeeks additional guidance from the PT, OT, or SLP when in needAssume other duties as assignedDISCLAIMER: If you are fluent in another language, when and if needed you will also provide assistance in the following translation tasks:Reading, writing, creating, editing documentsAttending evaluations/progress reports/and treatments to provide translation between provider and patient/caregiverAnswering phones and translating caller needsOther translation needs when necessaryPhysical And Mental RequirementsThese physical and mental demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the RA.
