The Project Superintendent is responsible for assisting the Construction Project Manager to assure that the projects are completed and maintain the standard of excellence established by the company and customer. Certain tasks will be assigned by the Assistant Construction Project Manager to take the lead on with little oversight. Along with working with the Construction Project Manager, this role will be given opportunity to execute selected projects including managing financials, administration, implementation, and customer satisfaction. The Project Superintendent will ensure that quality standards are maintained across all tasks and projects.\nWhat you will do:\nResponsible for the installation, commissioning, diagnosis, repair, and start-up of HVAC systems, utilizing knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, air distribution, controls and mechanical layouts.\nResponsible for planning, analyzing and timely completion of assigned projects and activities.\nEnsures compliance with internal contracting processes.\nPerforms site surveys, replacements, modifications and start-up as needed or requested by customers.\nPrepares for on-site installation by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, and coordinating with other trades as necessary.\nMaintains assigned stock of inventory, company equipment, and documents all related activities.\nRecords parts, material, labor, and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources.\nProvides sales leads to appropriate personnel.\nDocuments work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintaining files.\nTurns in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.\nProvides technical support to customers on assigned projects.\nCommunicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, subcontractors, and field support staff.\nMaintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns and implementing corrective action.\nEnsures compliance with internal contracting processes.\nSupports Project Managers by ensuring that assigned projects are completed on schedule and within budget.\nSupports Project Developer in the procurement of equipment.\nResponsible for acquiring project materials from local suppliers.\nAssists Project Manager in planning assigned projects and prioritizing tasks.\nAttends planning meetings on a weekly basis.\nSupervises work of project installation technicians, subcontractors, and vendors.\nMust have the ability to lead and motivate others.\nEnsures quality installation of assigned projects.\nAssists in estimate development.\nSupports the Project Manager in change order management by recommending solutions, facilitating quotes, and closing orders.\nWillingness to learn new HVAC technologies and systems.\nAbility to operate rental equipment (i.e. forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc.)\nRepresents the company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer’s location.\nKeeps current on Trane products concerning installation of direct digital control systems.\nInspects vehicles by checking vehicle condition and literature supplies.\nMaintains vehicles by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, completed repairs and maintenance service.\nMaintains tools and equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.\nContinually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.\nRegular travel requirements with occasional overnight stays.\nDisplay team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.\nWhat you will bring:\nA High School Diploma or equivalent required, and typically at least 5-10 years of experience in Commercial HVAC Installation or General Construction. Technical School or formal training is preferred.\nOperating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad). Experience with Procore preferred\nState Contractor Licenses Preferred (e.g. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer etc.).\nMust possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:\nDUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.\nFlexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.\nAdditional Requirements and Environmental Exposure:\nMust be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt\nMust be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties\nMust be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction\nMust be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands\nMust be able to reach your hands over your head\nMust be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours\nThis position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders.
