This is a hands-on individual contributor role — you'll be developing assembly processes, supporting equipment bring-up, and helping to scale best practices.\n\nThe ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in high-volume assembly environments, with solid skills in process engineering and a desire to grow into equipment deployment and production system design. You should be energized by ambiguity, comfortable iterating quickly, and motivated by the opportunity to be part of standing up something new.\n\nThis role requires solid technical execution, collaboration across disciplines, and the willingness to roll up your sleeves in a dynamic environment where the next problem is never the same as the last one.\n\nKey job responsibilities\n\nWork closely with product design teams to provide DFM/DFA feedback, advocate for producible assembly processes, and iterate rapidly — especially as the product design itself is still evolving.\nDevelop and prove out assembly methods — joining, fastening, adhesive bonding, press-fits, human-assisted automation — for complex electromechanical products.\nSupport PFMEA development and contribute process knowledge upstream in product development.\nSupport manufacturing line concept, design, requirements, sizing/balancing/timing, material flow, equipment specification, and commissioning.\nContribute to line requirements including layout, work content, cycle times, rates, and headcount.\nSupport design of new assembly equipment and fixturing; assist with equipment specifications, vendor RFQ, selection, FAT, and deployment.\nCoordinate with equipment OEMs, tooling suppliers, and automation integrators as directed.\nSupport end-to-end project execution\nSupport production readiness, including safety, quality, throughput, and scrap reduction.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce non-value-add operations and drive improvements from one build iteration to the next.\nDevelop and document assembly processes, work instructions, and control plans.\nApply Lean Manufacturing and data-driven problem-solving to drive continuous improvement.\n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS\nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.\n5+ years of direct manufacturing engineering experience in high-volume assembly environments for complex products.\nHands-on experience with assembly methods including mechanical joining, fastening, adhesive bonding\nFamiliarity with production system design, vendor engagement, and equipment bring-up.\nUnderstanding of DFM/DFA principles and their application in iterative product development.\nAbility to work effectively across cross-functional teams in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume\nMaster's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent\n\nAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.\n\nOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
