Enough work exists today that you won't start from a blank page; yet enough is missing that you'll own real pieces of it.\n\nFour main areas, though they overlap more than the list suggests. Expect to work across them rather than inside one:\n\nMotion planning – computing collision-free paths through an environment.\n\nControl – executing those paths on real hardware, reliably.\n\nPerception – object detection and scene reconstruction.\n\nManipulation – grasping and dexterous handling of objects.\n\nYou'll have people to collaborate with, including a team that answers questions, reviews your work, and shows up when something breaks. You'll be given direction, but not a detailed plan, as much of this is still unmapped. This position suits someone who takes ownership: finds the problem, solves it, and sees it through.\n\nJob Description\n\nDesign, build, and maintain software that runs in both simulation and on real hardware.\nPrototype fast to prove out ideas, then do the less glamorous half: hardening what works into systems that deploy and stay up.\nMeasure what the robot actually does: build the tests and metrics that catch regressions and close the gap between sim and reality.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.\n4+ years of relevant industry experience.\nDomain knowledge of robotics such as Dynamics, Controls, Planning, Estimation, and Computer Vision.\nProficiency in Python.\nExperience with C++, Git, ROS/ROS2, and Simulators (Mujoco, Gazebo, etc.).\nDocumentation and Communication Skills.\n\nNice to have\n\nReal-time software & multithreaded systems.\n3D math, linear algebra, embedded systems, signal processing.\nInterest in Active Inference or Machine Learning.\n\nAdditional Information\n\n12 paid holidays\nUnlimited PTO, 2 week minimum\nFlexible work hours policy\nHybrid/Remote work Schedule (CA/WA preferred)\nThis position is open to fully remote employees currently located in the US with full US work authorization already in place\nHealth, Dental and Vision coverage (Kaiser offered in CA)\nEquity Incentive Package\n$50/month for Health and Wellness\n\nCompensation Range\n\n110-150k depending on experience and location. This range is for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, and Seattle.
