The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.\n\nIn support of our growth, we are seeking to add a Mechanical Engineer to our team. This position will perform technical design projects for existing products. This member of the team will be supporting highly productive product lines and will be looking to improve efficiency and reduce cost through design improvements. The ideal candidate will have fluency with 3D CAD software, a strong background with structured product development processes, good people skills, and familiarity with designing components made of plastics and metals.\n\nPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nProvide mechanical or electromechanical design using computer aided design software\nDesign mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability\nResearch, design, develop, and test a variety of mechanical and electromechanical equipment and systems\nPerform engineering calculations to determine the size and strength of components and solve design problems and check computations contributing to analytical designs.\nApply applicable national standards in the design and testing of products and subassemblies\nGenerate engineering test reports\nApply Quality Standards\nObserve safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses equipment and materials properly\n\nDesired Training, Skills, and Experience:\n\nA Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 1-5 years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of training and education is Required\nDemonstrated competency with CAD applications; SolidWorks preferred\nWorking knowledge of GD&T and mechanical tolerance analysis methods\nFunctionally proficient in use and application of numerical simulation methods (particularly Finite Element Analysis and/or CFD/Thermal analysis) is desirable\nWorking proficiency using Design of Experiments techniques/applications (Minitab, JMP, or Design-Expert)\nKnowledge of Statistical Process Control methodology and applications a plus\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations\nAbility to write professional reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals\nAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, employees, and the general public\nDemonstrated ability to work mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry\nAbility to express and manipulate constraints and relationships symbolically. Ability to develop numerical solutions to complex equations\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office applications.\nStrong understanding of high-volume manufacturing\nKnowledge of engineering tools such as FMEAs, FEA, and DFMA to validate design content\nExperience in evaluating structural acceptability of designs by testing prototypes for reliability and FAA certification is desirable, preferred\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or government regulations. Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 25 Airworthiness Standards is desirable\nAS9100 standards and document control experience desirable\n\nEmployment Eligibility Requirements:\n\nThis position may involve access to items subject to U.S. export-control laws.
