Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate appropriate preparation for instruction.Choose and implement appropriate methodology and varied instructional strategies that address the diversity of the learners.Provide continuous feedback to students and families.Communicate appropriately with students, parents, community and staff.Use various ongoing assessments to monitor the effectiveness of instruction.Align the assessments with the goals, objectives and instructional strategies of the district curriculum guides and/or IEPs.Use assessment techniques that are appropriate to the varied characteristics and developmental needs of students.Engage in professional development activities consistent with the goals and objectives of the building, district and state.Participate in building, grade level and subject area committees.Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested.Create a positive learning environment.Effectively manage student behaviors.Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment within the school setting.Maintain accurate student records including attendance, grades and discipline.Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner.Adhere to all the policies, procedures and regulations of the building and district.Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination and harassments as directed by Board policy.Subject area teachers may have additional duties and responsibilities.Supervisory Duties:Supervise students at all timesQualificationsEducationBachelor's DegreeCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid Missouri Teaching Certificate ~ Industrial Arts Technology or Technology and Engineering or Journalism 5-9Skills and Abilities:LanguageAn individual who holds this position must have the ability to:Read, analyze and interpret professional journals, Board policy, administrative procedures and forms and governmental regulations and guidance complete forms, write reports and engage in written correspondence with parents.
